Role Summary:

The Head of Preconstruction role reports directly to the Senior Director of Operations and oversees all preconstruction aspects of EV installations from estimating, budgeting, solution design to procurement. This role will be responsible for improving current processes in place and building out processes as needed. This is a critical role in the company to ensure the success of service deliverables. This role will be responsible for developing a care/maintenance program to be rolled out in 2023 to support COIL’s growing EV installation business. 

What You'll Do: 

  • Function as executive pre-construction manager for national electrical deployments (L2, DCFC, Switchgear, etc.).

  • Ensure P&L and program profitability; establish and maintain financial controls and reporting for programs.

  • Establish a system pre-construction sales support system to ensure that all estimates provided are properly budgeted, designed and a materials list is identified.

  • Manage key national functional areas with direct reports including estimating, solution design, utility coordination, procurement & service / maintenance.

  • Maintain and continuously update a system for assigning projects to teams to track success & productivity.

  • Review engineering plan sets to ensure they match project details and are properly designed and value engineered.

  • Ensure networking is properly designed for deployment.

  • Maintain compliance with Corporate Governance, permitting, design, legal, safety / OSHA and quality requirements as required by AHJ’s (Authority Having Jurisdiction), customer and equipment manufacturers.

  • Architect a service support program and oversee the build out and execution.

  • Provide strategic direction and executive management necessary for functional area managers to achieve the stated objectives of their respective nationwide/regional geographies and functional areas and support (commercial Level 2, DCFC, etc.).

  • Work closely with the Director of Installations to ensure budgets are communicated and met.

  • Work with the technology team to evaluate and leverage technology to gain efficiencies in the business.

 

What We're Looking For: 

  • 10+ years of experience in the electrical / energy / construction industry

  • Advanced education or combination of experience in electrical engineering

  • Highly organized

  • Creative problem solving

  • Detailed and meticulous with great follow through to meet deadlines

  • Great communication skills, both in writing and verbal communication

  • Knowledge of the industry and a clear understanding of customer experience within the industry
